This is our Christmas aguinaldo for you all… On behalf of Los Pleneros de la 21, this Christmas we want to offer you a very special present: an aguinaldo with Puerto Rican master traditional artist, Don Orlando Laureano. Maestro Laureano will meet with us via ZOOM directly from Puerto Rico to talk with us all about the origins, meaning and evolution of the Puerto Rican Aguinaldo, and how this musical offering has been at the heart of the Puerto Rican Christmas’ parrandas for generations.

Join us for Una Navidad Nuyorkina, a spectacular musical celebration of 40 years of Los Pleneros de la 21!
Hosted by Arturo O’Farrill & the Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra, this not-to-be-missed event will take place on Saturday, December 2nd at the Hostos Center for the Arts in the Bronx.
Experience the rich legacy of the revered East Harlem Puerto Rican troupe as we come together to honor their Afro-Puerto Rican cultural expressions of Bomba and Plena.
BPAW classes are beginner friendly and are flexible--join as many classes as you can. No minimum required. Instruments and practice skirts are provided for in-class use.
The classes are designed to help you master the basics of Bomba and Plena, while creating a safe and welcoming environment for you to become comfortable developing your own signature style.
