Bomba masterclass on dance, cuá, maraca, history, and etiquettes. This clinic will include live drumming and handouts with detailed information breaking down various rhythms and variations, and will cover various dance patterns for all, regardless of gender. Whether you've been immersed in Bomba for 20 days or 20 years, you will walk away from this workshop learning something!

Ivelisse is the director and founder of La Escuelita Bombera de Corazón. Director and Founder of All women Bomba y Plena group “Las BomPleneras”. Ivelisse is a co-founding member and lead vocalist in Bomba con Buya. She has traveled with the group and as a soloist to places like California, New York, Puerto Rico, Cuba, Mexico, and Ghana, to name a few. She is a 2017 recipient of a 3Arts Make a Wave grant. With 27 years of learning and continued studies, Ivelisse has become a well-known vocalist, dancer, and leader within the Bomba community in Chicago and beyond.
