Hosted by Arturo O’Farrill & the Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra, this not-to-be-missed event will take place on Saturday, December 2nd at the Hostos Center for the Arts in the Bronx.

Experience the rich legacy of the revered East Harlem Puerto Rican troupe as we come together to honor their Afro-Puerto Rican cultural expressions of Bomba and Plena.

Immerse yourself in a captivating blend of jazzy flavors and Puerto Rican sazón, featuring recent orchestral works by LP21’s musical director and bassist, Alex Apolo Ayala. These incredible performances will pay tribute to 40 years of captivating music-making and honor the iconic jazz bass players and composers that have inspired Apolo’s unique arrangements.

This extraordinary event is presented in collaboration with Belongó, Los Pleneros de la 21, and the Hostos Center for the Performing Arts.
